Our Family Journey

As far back as I can remember, Heeten has always been passionate about cars. He got his driving licence on this 17th birthday which was the legal age in the UK and that’s when the car madness began! He was always working on his own cars, or learning ways to improve his cars, his driveway turned into his own workshop. Our endless talks about cars meant I was always being fed information (even when I pretended not to listen). But that was all just the beginning! Off to University he went to study Aeronautical Engineering which only fueled his passion for cars, engines and aircrafts. I myself chose the path of customer service and administration. So whilst the weekdays were filled with learning, the weekends would be the time where I could get my car serviced for free!

Roll on many years later, we moved to Abu Dhabi in the UAE in 2014 with our 1 year old son, the hunt for a reliable mechanic started, and it was not easy at all. Just when we found a trustworthy place, someone would leave or the management would change which then meant service would change to. After a few attempts at finding a new service centre, we were more than often given a false diagnosis on the cars or over priced services. It did help that Heeten always knew what was wrong, and was able to raise his concerns, but what about all the people who do not know about cars? As I was always involved I was able to pick up some of the details and learn some bits (I am not a mechanic) but this gave me the confidence I needed to ask the right questions.

When we moved to Dubai in 2019, just before the pandemic, we were fortunate to move to a villa with a driveway, but that soon turned in to the workshop, our 2 boys (aged 7 and 10) would go out and get their hands dirty working on the cars with Heeten and they loved it. I mean he even let then remove the wheels and check the brakes on his Aston all in our driveway! We always talked about teaching the boys about cars and as they were naturally interested and keen to be involved and this made the decision of setting up a workshop so much easier. We have always encouraged the boys to be involved, ask questions and learn through doing, this is something that is harder out here. I got my first job at 14 years old doing a newspaper round at 5am. I don’t think my kids will be doing the same thing.

Quick Pro Auto came about June 13th 2023. It was a bumpy journey as is everything with life but here we are today. We are based in Al Quoz 3 and are fully managing the workshop. With my focus on customer service and communication, Heeten’s technical expertise and my 2 children’s passion for learning, we are hopeful that this will be a successful journey together. No one is perfect and we are not pretending to be, the last few months have been a huge learning curve and we are still learning daily but our drive to provide the correct service for our customers with the honesty and transparency they need, is what fuels the business.

Our next focus is to build up a educational program for young children to be able to learn more about cars. Even if it is the basics such as oil maintenance or tyre changing, it’s a life skill we should all have. Keep an eye on our socials for more updates on this.
